IIRC Feltham Rail Link has been discontinued for a bus that takes longer.

We went through Heathrow last month and it was a breeze. Just the usual questions:
how long are you staying, what's the purpose of your stay, etc. From getting off the
plane to getting out of the airport took about 40 minutes tops.

Even if it's been officially discontinued, trains from Waterloo to Feltham still
exist, and local bus services still exist, so it's still perfectly possible, and the
easiest way to waterloo.
There are also buses to Hampton, and Hampton Court with direct train services to
waterloo, that's probably not as convenient though being longer bus journeys.

Yes, the former non-stop services (T123 and T4) have been replaced by "ordinary"
service 285, but it still takes you between Feltham and H'row.

Yes, that's the 111. I'm just trying to remember whether than bus crosses the river
at that point and serves the station at Hampton Court as well as the palace.

No the 111 carries on to Kingston along with the 72something which is also an option
and is faster to Hampton Court and crosses Kingston Bridge - not sure how close it
gets to Kingston station, the walk from HC green (where the bus stops) to HC station
is a few hundred yards across the bridge, or get off at the Lion Gate, and walk
through Hampton Court gardens.
