Default Greetings cards

In UK we have greetings cards for just about everything, am I
right in saying this is rare elsewhere in Europe?

Can't speak for Europe, but it's certainly true in the U.S.!
(I've even seen one for "Congratulations on your divorce"!)

Gotta love that protection of the sanctity of marriage in the US!

It's *rarer* here in France. It's hard to find much other than birthday &
new year cards. Others can be found but not much selection. For example, I
had a hard time finding a wedding anniversary card for my wife but I found a
few that were addressed to the couple.

In fact, I'm seriously considering going into the greeting card business.

It's not popular in France except for New Year. I get surprised looks when I give a birthday or Christmas card. But then I'm the only English person I know here! I make my own so I don't have to pay €5 for the cheesy stuff they do have.

Some people here seem unable to.

Germans and Austrians have a lot of greeting cards. You can find them
even in grocery stores. I do particularly appreciate the funeral
greeting cards.

If I marked read the posts from people who argue with Mixi (Mixi's are already marked
read) I wonder how many posts would be left... I'm going with 30-35/day.

With all the software available, you could even design your
own, and market them on the internet! 8-)
