Depends on what sort of scenery. If you're looking for mountains and alpine
meadows then Switzerland wins. If you want river valleys and castles then
the Rhine or the upper Danube in Germany win I think.
Germany is possibly cheaper but Switzerland isn't always as expensive as
some here try and make out. Fuel is cheaper for one thing.
If I had only one visit though, I'd choose southern and central
Switzerland.

Definately more costly than Germany. Prices are about 20% higher on the
average.

That depends on what you are interested in, how much time you have, etc.
Switzerland is a small country, so you can see most of the country in
relatively short time. Germany on the other hand is very big, travelling
like from Munich to Hamburg by train takes you a full day. So if you want
to see lots of different cities in Germany you should have enough time.
From the scenic point of view - hmm, depends what you are interested in.
Switzerland is very beautiful with lots of mountains and
countryside-scenery. If you like that, than choose Switzerland. In Germany
you can also find the coast and the sea, if you are interested in that. And
the cities are maybe a bit more interesting.
From the price-level, Switzerland is about 20% more expensive than Germany
(especially food nad restaurants are rather pricy in Switzerland).

Frank

I really doubt that. You may be able to rush by a lot of places by the
road or railway line, but you will have seen very little of
Switzerland. We once spent a week in Interlaken, and I'm sure that it
would probably have taken several weeks more to see and do everything
in just that one relatively small area. It even takes a good portion
of a day to see tiny Liechtenstein.

What is there to see? A few petrol stations, the castle from below... the
WWII tank barriers on the Swiss border. 3/4 hour. Tops

Last time I tried, they wouldn't let me in. It was 1983 and when I
arrived by motorbike, I was send back at the border. I haven't tried
since then.
