Germany etc. map source
Several posters have mentioned not finding highly detailed maps 'til one
is in Germany? Today I used ixquick.com to search for :
"1:200,000" +germany
and one of the results was omnimap.com and they appear to have extensive
maps available for ordering here in the U.S. so I placed an order for a
road map. If you are interested in any foreign countries maps check it
out.

I was speaking of an interactive internet map.
If you want to buy paper maps look for the
- generalkarte in Germany and for
- carte michelin in France
these are the most used in these countries for 1:200000
(Don't use 200,000 in Europe. It's 200.000 here or 200000)
(Karte is the german word for map, carte in french)
