Default German trains Help!!

I am struggling with the DB website as I don't speak German
(their ticket shop is only in
German). Here is what I want to do:

3 adults from Munich to Prague 6/30, then to Berlin 7/6
As cheap as possible 2nd class

It looks like the "Lander" ticket is the best deal (then buy
separate Czech tickets over
the border). Same thing from Prague -> border, then buy tix to Berlin.

Is the Lander ticket good for 3 people @ 25E total?? Is it worth trying
to buy before flying to
Germany (next week) or just wait until we get to Frankfurt and go to
the DB office (or machine)
there? It looks like full fare tickets for Muc-Pra are 49E and Pra-Ber
are 53E each, and
for 3 people that is out of our budget (over 300E total).

Thanks!
TB

I suggest you just wait till you get to Germany.

The Laendertickets are good for up to 5 persons travelling together.
Only local trains may be used (as RE,RB,S)
AFAIK the ticket may be bought either over internet or locally. Not
available in other regions.

Go to www.bahn.de and click on "Internat. Guests" in the red menu bar
across the top. It's all in English thereon. (This is a fairly recent
change to the DB site, I think - possibly World Cup-related.)

The train connections to Prague are slow and you may have to change several
times.

Have a look at Condor Airlines (www.condor.de). They have bargain flights
from Munich to Prague.

I went to Prague last year by train. Never again! This year I am going to
fly.

And if you try you'll get:
"Eurailticket - no longer existing

Eurail has stopped the Eurailticket offer.

Eurailtickets no longer exist. Of course, you can still buy tickets
for travel in Europe, if you are only going to make few trips. You can buy
them from the Eurail Sales Agents.

You can also buy tickets at the ticket offices in Europe."

No wonder as I think there's no market for heavy inflated tickets up
to 50% above what's charged locally.

There is a direct train, no changes, departing Munich at 06:43,
takes 6:02, and is the chepaest at EUR 49.50. There is another at
16:44. And a direct night train at 23:07, fare EUR 66.50.

They seem to have one daily flight at 06:20, arrive Prague 07:20.
I have no idea how much time woul be consumed by airport
tranportation and check-in, but 06:20 is damn early.

Chaun a son gout, of course.

I understand that you can also buy the tickets from DB through
the Internet for pickup in German, although I would think the
only train for which an advance purchase might be necessary would
be the night train. Otherwise, just buy them in Germany.

Meanwhile, Raileurope and derivative sites like Railpass continue
to show no shame.

Re: Eurail

GermanRail passes are much cheaper than Eurail any day if you're only
traveling in Germany. And you can even buy them at FRA airport if you're
landing there. There are also some good group tickets you can buy, too.
