"The French dislike themselves even more than the Americans dislike
them, according to an opinion poll published on Friday. The survey of
six nations, carried out for the International Herald Tribune daily
and France 24 TV station, said 44 percent of French people thought
badly of themselves against 38 percent of U.S. respondents who had a
negative view of the French....."

Six Die In Suspicious Greenhouse Gases Study
Manager Gets Five-Year Sentence
Back to Story - Help
April 24, 2007
Associated Press
Mysterious bags of fish and pictures were found in a freshly dug
grave, police said. Police were investigating and had not determined
the items' meaning, said Capt. Michael Murphy.
A gravedigger noticed the four small, black bags Saturday in a grave
he had recently prepared at St. Joseph's Cemetery. Each bag contained
one smoked fish and pictures of unidentified people, police said.
It was not clear when the bags were placed there, police said. They
said they did not believe the items were linked to the family of the
person being buried.
The finding did not interfere with the burial, said cemetery
superintendent Frank Dietrich. He had his own explanation for the
items: "Littering."

Disinformation, the poll question is"what is your opinion of France"?
Positive or negative.
And your numbers are also WRONG.
The Germans had a 74% positive rating, Italy had a 69% positive
rating, Spain had a 63% positive, and France itself had a 62%
positive. Effectively there is no diference between Italy, Spain and
France. The Germans flock to France on vacation and always
had the saying "Leben wie Gott in Frankreich"
The British who not only visit France and many have come to live
here, had 43% vs 28% positive/negative rating while the US
what the only country in which the negatives exceeded the positives,
31% vs 47%
Agreed the French are self-critical but that is bad? It is more
dangerious
to have a very high opiinion of one's self, displays ego-centricity.
As for the view of the US, an extensive series of polls by Pew
http://pewglobal.org/reports/display.php?ReportID$7
showed that a "favorable" opinion of the US was poor in
Western Europe in 2006, Netherlands, 45%, France, 43%,
Germany, 41% and Spain 41%. However, before Bush
those favorable opinions were over 50%.
Americans generally had a favorable opinion of themselves, 83%
the Germans rated themselves at 64% and rated the French higher
then themselves 78%! The Americans were more favorable
of themselves than any other groups! The French also
ranked the Germans higher than themselves, 89% vs 74%.
In that poll the British and Canadians also ranked the French
highly, 78% and 71%, and higher than they did the Americans,
59% and 51%, respectively.
The Pew polls are taken over many years and use a large
sampling population.

At least they have some class, unlike the Americans. And at least they're

Hi Christophe. I'm sorry you had to read such a stupid post but the
author is a fool that has never travelled outside his own country so his
ignorance is understandable. Paris is less representative of France than
London is of England but even so most English would not like to be compared
with Londoners. As you say what matters is the fact that we are all belong
to this one earth.

This is a false report - it is common knowledge that the French
actually love themselves more than any other people from any country
in the world.
A recent survey reported that the French masturbate 728% more than any
other race, an average 29.12 times per week per head of population,
making them the biggest bunch of wankers on earth.
This goes a long way in explaining the rather strange behavior of Sir
Jean-Paul Turcaud - the man has obviously bonked his own brains out.
And it also gives a very good indication that Peter Wicks (aka "Che
Guava"), posting as "fasgnadh", Kwyjibo and Gregory Shearman are
frogs.
You really do have to hand it to the French...After all, they won't
fight for it.

You can ad hom all you want about the French, for allegedly being decadent
"cheese eating surrender monkeys", but you better cover your own rears if
you can find an aircraft carrier big enough.
Face it, they have class. You just have fat arses. And those few Frenchies
who are fat are so merely because they have character, whereas you guys
just can't stop stuffing your faces with grease burgers.
