English hotel chains question

English hotel chains question
Hi I am visiting England soon and plan to stay at those Premier and
Innkeeper's places. They have a good balance for me between price and
quality. Are there any other big chain of their sort in England? They
aren't as prevelant up north e.g. Yorkshire and Cumbria, where I will
be spending a lot of time, and was looking for recommendations for
alternatives. RSVP,

Premier Travel Inn is the largest chain and I use them quite frequently (I
just had two nights at Lowestoft in one with the kids, at £60 per night
which is cheap for the UK)
There is a smattering of Campanile, Best Western Holiday Inn, Hilton and
Etap hotels but nothing like as many.

Not chain hotels, but its easy to spot a nice family run hotel.

There is also www.travelodge.co.uk all over Britain. They've been around
longer than Premier Travelinn, so some of their places may be older.
Sometimes you can get a very good deal with them for half the regular price.
I do prefer Premier Travelinn, but have found Travelodges adequate for the
most part - the attached eating establishments associated with Travelodges
(Little Chef) aren't up to those with Travelinns though. I take my own
breakfast ingredients so not a factor with me.
The French Ibis hotels chain have also set up a number of their
establishments in Britain. I quite like them also.

There is also www.travelodge.co.uk all over Britain. They've been around
longer than Premier Travelinn, so some of their places may be older.
Sometimes you can get a very good deal with them for half the regular price.
I do prefer Premier Travelinn, but have found Travelodges adequate for the

Travel Inn are always situated next to a restaurant serving reasonable (if

Aren't those the ones that are part of the big petrol station complex
in between the lanes of the Motorway, or on the side?
