Default destination city

I am flying to Europe at the end of May and returning to the US in the
end of July. I am flying out of Kansas City. I am flexible as to my
destination city in Europe. Are there some cities that are much
cheaper to fly into as opposed to others? I found a flight to Paris
for $420. I thought that seemed good, but is there a hidden gem
waiting to be found? Thanks for your help.

If you found a return flight MCI-CDG on the dates quoted for US $420 then
grab it with both hands!

That's pretty cheap. I am flying SFO to Frankfurt and the quotes are over
$1,000 rt.

I just tried random dates in May (leave 22 May; return 21 June) SFO-FRA
and www.sidestep.com found British Airways at $551.48 round-trip. The best
Orbitz had was $701 on Northwest. If you click on the Sidestep link it goes
straight to the British Airways site, and the fare is indeed there and
available. I noticed this when looking in late June Chicago-Hamburg that
British was also far and away the best--even for a trip over two months.
This is HIGHLY unusual for a major carrier to be so cheap this far in
advance for a regular fare for late June! You might want to give them a
look.

I went to sidestep and found that you have to download a program to get any
info. And their site has nothing about their privacy policy nor anything
about whether the program tracks your internet uusage and reports back to
them. I wouldn't download anything form them without this info. Just my
$0.02 worth.

For what it's worth, I found the sidestep program to be very annoying. It
kept coming up and taking over every time I'd go to any airline-related web
site. Erased it and never looked back.
