You forgot Canada and Britain at Gold, Juno & Sword beaches.

and the Free French with deGaulle landing next to the canadians... I
always figured it was a language thing... they'd have a better chance of
happening upon somebody who spoke the same language on the beach.

degaulle n'a pas participé au debarquement,mais les commandos français

ont debarqué a riva-bella et avait pour objectif de prendre le port et la
batterie de ouistreham.Ils faisaient partie de la premiere brigade et
avaient pour commandant le brigadier general lord lovat(voir pegasus
bridge).Kieffer comme la plupart de ses commandos etait un français
expatrié et vivait aux etats unis au moment de la declaration de guerre.il
n'avait donc aucun probleme de comprehension de l'anglais.de nombreux
parachutistes français furent lancés en bretagne avec pour objectif
d'empecher les armées allemandes de bretagne de passer en normandie.
pour memoire degaulle "debarque" a courseulles le 14 juin
