Default Could really use a BERLIN hotel recommendation

I browsed for awhile but it's too difficult to determine how a hotel
is from the perspective of a stranger recommending it. Too often they
don't say what they liked about it.

Here's what we'd like to find. Something quiet, clean, centrally
located with about 30 rooms or less. We don't care about elevators,
room service, etc, but require a nice in room bath. A fairly spacious
room would be great because we may use it for 8-10 days. I personally
like breakfast to be included. I almost always avoid chain hotels. I
speak a fair amount of German, so I don't even require English from
the staff. Are there any pleasant experiences out there you'd be
willing to share? 2-3ish star range would be ideal.

Vielen dank im vorraus fur die information.

Hotel am Studio, west of the center, Kaiserdamm 80-81. Close to
an U-Bahn stop. Not quite as small as you'd like, with 77 rooms,
some rather small in size, some comfortable and somewhat spacious.
Good rates, clean and comfortable, in-room bath, breakfast included.

We loved the Scandotel Castor in Schöneberg. It's centrally located, a few
blocks from KaDeWe and the rooms and breakfast were absolutely great. It's
owned by a Swedish tour operator, I think, who book mostly Swedish groups
into it, but the staff all spoke excellent English and were quite nice.
Viel Spaß!

Hotel Bogota is a good one also. My sister and her family stayed there in
July 2001 when we visited Berlin(we stayed in a youth hostel) and my father
and his wife also. Rooms were generous, and inexpensive, and it is just
off the Ku'damm.
