Default Copenhagen Hotels

We will be in Copenhagen for three days and are looking for an
inexpensive hotel located near the Central Train Station. Any
suggestions? Please also respond via email.
Thanks

Hi Allan, in 1999 or so I went with a large group of folks to
Copenhagen on a weekend trip, and stayed at the "Sleep-in Heaven" (get
it???) It was cheap, clean, good, convenient, and a load of fun.

Hey Allen!

You'll never see this, or any of the other responses you may get,
because you don't know how to use newgroups.

Hotel Absalon perhaps ? Stayed there some nights and have always been
satisfied with service. For real inexpensive accommodation I would
guess you have to go outside the city core.

On my last visit to Copenhagen I stayed at the Top Hebron near the train
station. I was not impressed, not for the price they were charging. We
had booked it because it was supposed to have parking. It didn't. Parking
was "available"..... three blocks away in a parking tower were it cost me
something like 165 Kr. to park from 10:30 pm until 9 am. There was no
charge to park overnight on the street until 7 am if you could find a spot.
I could not. Considering overnight parking is usually cheaper than day time
parking downtown I hate to imagine how much it would have cost for a whole
day. The room would have been acceptable at about 1/3 the rate we were
paying.

We ended up moving out to the Scandic motel in Glostrup, and since most of
our business there was out of the city and involved picking up friends in
Glostrup, that worked out. The room was much nice, a little cheaper, the
parking was free, and the breakfast buffet was wonderful. We were able to
get into town easily by train or bus.

I stayed at the Tiffany Hotel. Comfortable and good value. All rooms
have a kitchenette and fridge. they deliver fresh bread rolls to the
room every morning.

Wow, that sounds great! I liked the Mermaid, which had good breakfasts
and a nice restaurant, but no fresh rolls in the morning.

You should have stayed in the Seaman's Hostel in Havn.
