Maybe the idea of pretending to be Canadian is no longer
such a silly idea! (Certainly many of us are no longer
proud to be American!)

Hit the "shift lock" by mistake, and haven't a clue how to
change it?

But how much longer will they send them overseas? (Medicare
deosn't cover there, as it is.) And if the dollar continues
to slip vis a vis the Euro, the value of that check will
continue to decrease, also.

The Euro peaked against the dollar on 17th February 2004

Most of the movie and music companies are in states that voted in large
percentages AGAINST the current administration.

And a lot of the products that come out of "red" states (the ones who
supported Bush) are agricultural and raw materials. Do you really know
that French bread isn't made from Texas wheat?

Yep. Take a look at which states went red and which went blue. Then take a
look at such factors as median income and amount of education. Blue states
are international travelers, red states go to Disney World.

I am NOT suggesting that all Democrats are necessarily educated,
culturally-sophisticated professionals and all Republicans are necessarily
semi-literate, uneducated Walmart cashiers. However, there is an absolute
correlation between how a state voted and the education level of its
populace.

Educated, culturally aware people travel internationally. Statistically,
they are far more likely to be (a) democrats, and (b) from an urban area in
the west coast, the northeast or the upper midwest.

We can't afford 4 more years and yet we have no real choice.

I agree entirely with your sentiments, but I certainly will travel to
the US in the next 4 years. I'm not put off by the fact that just over
half the voters voted for someone I find execrable. Grow up. I'm sure
you go to plenty of countries with questionable policies. As for
boycotting US products, fine, go ahead. If you can. You'll quickly
realise you'll have to give up more than you can accept. Check your
computer OS for a start- I noticed you posted this using OE, so there's
a whiff of hypocrisy already. It's about more than just avoiding
Californian wines you know.

You know, if you're not going to take this seriously, I think someone else
is going to walk away with that autographed picture.

Paul probably should have said "Democratic VOTERS". Turnout in Compton is not
great.
