It's still about beer. The good Ayinger, of course.
As of a short while ago, "my" S6 is taking me directly to Aying (or back
home) in 56 minutes :-)

I go for the womanly Koelsch;-)

I know,
the keyboards in Koeln are
Koeln-compliant now:
Ctrl - Koelsch - Delete :-)

That's true among the remaining "Big Six" Munich breweries, sure.
But forgive me for exposing a local secret (and one beer-loving
travellers won't be able to go enjoy until March): Forschungsbrauerei,
home to St-Jakobus Blonder Bock and Pilsissimus. Thanks to the way
the Oktoberfest participation regulations are written, you don't get
to see a Forschungsbrauerei tent at the Wies'n. Not to worry; it's an
easy S-Bahn ride to Perlach, and a few minutes' stroll to the best
little "unknown" brewery in Munich.

Sorry if I have to quote myself from former postings in this group:

| If you are really into beer and want to tell your friends something
| they did not experience yet for sure, go to Forschungsbrauerei
| ("Research Brewery") at Unterhachinger Strasse (in the middle of
| nowhere).

| A connaisseur's suggestion could be "the smaller the better". Try the
| "St. Jakobus Blonder Bock" at Munich's smallest brewery, called
| "Forschungsbrauerei", located at Unterhachinger Strasse 76. That's
| special.

| This is of course first choice for the real beer enthusiast. For the
| "regular tourist", it might be a bit too special, at least not the
| Bavarian type kitsch/plush that most first time visitors want to see.
| Forschungsbrauerei is a very interesting industrial building but not

|
| DNA altering? I dunno. Of some hallucinogenic qualities, for sure.

| As at Forschungsbrauerei, I tend to swich to the regular stuff (Helles
| at Forschungsbrauerei and Schneider Weiße at Weißes Brauhaus) after
| the first one or two of the strong ones. That will guarantee al
| longer, enjoyable evening and a more successful next day.
I'm already countig the days until the first Friday of March :-)

I went there when I was "visiting" MBB 30 years ago, good beer, poor
atmosphere :-)
Next you'll be tell us it's been taken over by the Dutch Bavaria pils
chemical works.

That sounds more than probable :-(((
Bayer Pesticides division should buy Bavaria Pils and the Land of
Bavaria should stop Bavaria Pils NL using the name. There are actually
people who believe that the stuff is brewed in Munich.
Do you know Munster near Glonn? My home from home when I used to
visit Munich.
I still remember having the half litre of Ayinger and a couple of
weissworst for Saturday morning breakfast

It's deep in the forest on a hill about 3 km from Glonn.

Not to be forgotten. Nor Frau Ott, the owner's generosity
