Chicken flu starts to take off against humans
Recent developments in relation to bird flu is causing me at least
concern about a localised infection of bird flu in vietnam is about to
turn into a global disaster:
1. There is now established evidence of human to human transmission.
2. The bird flu has mutated to a type that is more deadly to humans.
3. The bird flu has now appeared in Cambodia and Thailand.
4. The spread amongst the bird population is growing rapidly daily.
5. The number of human infections and deaths are growing.
6. A recent meeting of the drug industry over drugs patents put greed
before commonsense when it is quite clear the countries like Vietnam
cannot afford their drugs and so will fail to combat the bird flu.
7. Vietnam has put riot police out in one of their main cities.
8. China appears to be hiding the true facts of bird flu. The duck
exports from China has dramatically fallen in recent weeks.
9. Panic buying of flu drugs have begun in Hong Kong.
10. The media continues to give reporting of bird flu low priority.
