Tomorrow will be 1 week in London, so far cell almost worthless (thanks
loads o2), PDA used a little, before flight, and in hotel, but nothing
around town or waiting on a bus etc., just too much other stuff to do.
Laptop also not used much, but mostly due to lack of hotspots. Twice I
have carried it down to the net cafe across the street from hotel and
plugged it in to get my huge email downloads, but nothing like the
planned usage at all. We surf on the Dells at the cafe for 1/hr and
nothing anyplace wifi has been reasonable so far. British Library was
4.5/hr, maybe less somehow through Cloud directly, but we just carried
the notebook back to the cafe by the hotel instead.
Some long train rides coming up, so maybe we use the Palm then.
Also I may sit with the laptop and type up a nice fat blog style trip
note.

Home now, chances are I will spend a few hours and type up my trip
before old age erases $10,000 in travel experiences, but if I blog it
anyplace it will be brief.
Bottom line on the etoys;
Mp3 players got LOTS of use, but not by me, mostly son and wife a bit
less.
Palm M515 filled in with ebooks when it was REALLY boring otherwise,
and I played a bit of a few games under similar situations. Calendar
and calculator functions also came in handy a few times.
Cellphone, the worst thanks O2, £1.50 a min for international calls,
web site so opaque it took the first week to find out US credit cards
could not be used to top up, but it did provide emergency contact to us
if needed, and we were able to call about opening times etc. I would do
it again, just not O2, and not to call the USA from UK.
Nikon 3100, very nice, there are newer, smaller, better, but we are
happy with this camera and took many nice shots.
Notebook Dell D400, very nice unit, very little use due to my lack of
wifi saavy and cost of wifi at the Holiday Inn, £12.90/day (not to
mention the poor signal, 11.b speed). MUCH more practical approach I
saw others using is to take a USB drive and run essential software
(email and Skype for example) from it and download all files etc to it
at internet cafes, which were all over at £1/hr. Once wifi is
"reallly" working, then I would take the notebook again 100%, mostly
for information.
Film camera got no use, but I suppose would have been nice if the
digital went toes up. Would take it again, but not carry it daily.
Lowtech a couple of 5x8 paper notepads got heavy use, and several
paperback books got read. Guide books and about 5 maps were also
essential (tube, bus, detailed street map, lower detail mainstreets)
It was a good trip, good luck to others.

In the meantime you could take your next holiday in Norwich!
