Default Carry-ons with laptop on Aegean Airlines

I will be on a trip using British Airways, Ibera, EasyJet and Aegen Airways
and I plan to carry a 5lb thin and light 12 inch laptop plus one piece of
carry on baggage.
Of all the airlines involved in the itinerary, Aegean seems to have the
smallest Economy Class carry-on baggage allowance listed on their web site.
Only one piece totalling 6 kilograms or less. All the other airlines
specifiy that you can carry a laptop or other small bag (such as camera bag,
etc.) in addition.
Aegean does not specify this on their website.
Does anyone know if you you can also take a laptop on board in economy class
on Aegean? If I stuff the laptop into the carry-on bag, it will likely make
the carry-on weigh over 6kg.
If I'm only carrying one bag that fits within the external dimensions they
allow for hand lugagge, would they even bother to weigh the bag (do you even
need to go to the ticket counter with the scales at all if you have no
checked luggage)? I will be using Aegean Airlines between Rome and Athens
and then between Santorini and Athens.

Wrong !!

BA do NOT allow a laptop in addition to the 6Kg limit.

Well, I'm actually going to use World Traveller Plus on BA, so the real
problem still remains Aegean somce the other carriers (Iberia and Easyjet)
do allow a personal item along with the carry-on.
The laptop is small and can fit in my carry on bag, so as long as they don't
weigh the bag, it won't be a problem.
Does Aegean Airlines weigh carry on bags at Rome and Santorini even if you
have no checked bags?
.

After seeing this message about another small airline from the region...
<[email protected]>
...I would start worrying.

To avoid problems if the ticket agents decide to be strict about hand
luggage weight limits, how about "wearing" the laptop in a jacket with a
large compartment in the back
http://www.scottevest.com/v3_glossary/backpocket.shtml
so it doesnt get weighed?
I could wear it up to the ticket counter out of view of the ticket agents,
take it out at the X-ray machine to be screened by security, then stuff it
back into my carry on after going through security. It would bypass the
scales and shouldn't be a problem since my carry-on bag's exterior
dimensions are still within limits.
Should that work?

I have never, ever seen carry-on baggage being weighed anywhere in the
world. Are there any places that do this as a matter of course?

I've had carryons weighed at London Heathrow on Virgin, and British
Airways.

I've had my carryons weighed at JFK (on BA).

Cape Air that flies short hops from Boston to Provincetown or Martha's
Vineyard flies these tiny 14 person airplanes and they not only weigh
your luggage and carryons but weigh the passengers themselves- though
sometimes they use the scale and sometimes just ask you. Apparantly they
then balance the plane because once they've determined people's weights,
they tell each person where to sit!

It is a gorgeous 20 minute flight though!

Olympic do it on the night flight returning from Istanbul.

There it is because the plane (turbo-prop) is too small for
people to take things on board that would not be a problem on
other flights. If the rome or santorini flights are small planes,
the OP may have a problem.
