Hi All, I dont want to book in advance in first week August on above route but has
anyone any indication as to whether it is usually ok to turn up and have a good
chance of getting a vacancy? We leave in May and our crystal ball is a bit cloudy for
August. (especially as I am over 70!!!) Regards

Hi
I wouldn't advise it.
All these longer crossings are quite busy, unless you travel on DEC 25th, etc.
It isn't just getting on the boat, it is a question of cabin availability and car space too.
Often any spare places are taken by trucks.

I investigated Hull - Zeebrugge/Rotterdam with a few day's notice for a trip I took
in March. No cabins available on either route, so I'd advise booking as early as you
can. Apparently, sitting in the lounge all night is not an option now - you have to
have a cabin. (The 2-berth ones are v. comfortable in my experience).
