Default Brompton Hotel, London - any good?

Hi;
I'll be in London in June and am looking for a reasonably priced,
well-located hotel. I like the South Kensington area. Found a hotel
called the Brompton Hotel, right near the S. Ken tube stop. Does
anyone have any experience with this hotel?

Alternatively, any recommendations for another place to stay?

Thanks alot!!

Cheers,
Ann

I looked at that one, and honestly don't remember why I passed on it, but
we're staying at the Montana soon which is on Gloucester Rd near there. By
writing ahead we got a better rate than through the booking agencies
online - sweet.

I stayed at the Prince Hotel (or Hotel Prince) in Sumner Place a few years
ago. Tiny shower room, TV was faulty, and breakfast turned out to be served
at a neighbouring hotel (and wasn't nice). They also tried to claim their
rates were all ex-VAT and add VAT on to the bill.
