British are browned off as HP Sauce goes Dutch
By David Millward
(Filed: 10/05/2006)
The manufacture of HP Sauce, a staple of British tables for more than
100 years, is to be moved to Holland, it was announced yesterday.
After being made in the Midlands for generations, the condiment will
become just another item coming off the production line at the Heinz
European Sauces Centre in Elst.
The proposals - at present out for consultation - will cost 125 jobs at
the HP factory in Aston Cross, Birmingham when the plant shuts next
March.

Oh, dear.
Mercedes has bought Chrysler, Ford has bougth Volveo, and the
Swedes have bought out my favorite Finnish mustard (Turku style).
What next? This EU thing is obviously a disaster.
