Between Reims & Paris

I am planning a trip to the Paris environs this spring
and the last couple of days we plan to go to Reims. Do
to timing of flights we would have to catch a train earlier
than we'd like to get to CDG on time. One option is to move
a bit closer to Paris on the day before the flight. There is Epernay
and Chateau Theiry but they don't get you much closer. According
to the guidebooks there seems to be nothing between and
poking around SNCF and the TER sites did not yeild any inspiration.
Any good ideas?

I'd stay in Reims as late as possible, enjoy my day, catch an evening train
after the commuters have got home and check into one of the myriad of chain
hotels near CDG e.g. Ibis, so that the effort to get to the airport is
minimised.
Ibis have a 24h check in and provide satisfactory levels of comfort for 1
night before a flight.

I agree with you, I'd find an airport hotel. Chateau Thierry or Epernay are
only marginally closer to Paris.
