Unless you need to be in Malmo very early in the morning or very late at night, you
may find it cheaper and easier to find a place to stay in Kobenhavn -- there are many
near the main railway station -- and take the train over to Malmo.

Not a direct answer to your question, I know. The only place I can personally
recommend in Malmo is the Quality Konserthuset, which is very nice but about ten
minutes' walk from the station, and not especially cheap.
