I like the Hotel Lleo on Carrer Pelai. They have a Website, I'm pretty sure.

Do you have a budget? Hotels in Barcelona can be fairly expensive. Any other
information about your style of travel would help others answer your question.

A friend of mine used to stay at Hotel Lleo when in Barcelona, since last year, when
he was robbed: money, passport, camera, cellular phone ... all *stolen from the
room* within a 30 minutes period when he was temporarily out! And he says there were
absolutely no sign of door (to be opened with magnetic badge) or window (fifth floor
...) having been forced! The guy at the reception tried to convince him that someone
probably forced and opened the door inserting something like a plastic credit card
between the heavy door and the jamb! Go figure ... Police told him they suspected
the thief used a "passepartout" magnetic badge (like those used by cleaning workers)
or a faked badge. The hotel has no liability because he didn't put these things into
their safe (but have you ever heard of someone that puts his camera and his phone
into an hotel safe, everytime he goes out of the room?). Police itself was very
surprised by this theft from the room ("quite unusual", they told, even for
Barcelona ...). The friend told me he will never stay at Lleo in the future (quite
obviously, I think ...) and that it's a pity because the hotel is nice and very well
located near the Ramblas.
