We'll be staying on the Plaka in Athens next month. From the airport I'd
like to take the bus to the metro and then take the metro to the plaka area.
Is there a stop on the metro to the Plaka?
Thank you,
Lorrie

Dear Greg
The bus from Airport takes you downtown Athens at Syntagma sqr. which is
next to Plaka.
Plaka lies between Syntagma sqr. metro station and the next Monastiraki sqr.
metro station.
10 minutes walk away max.

The airport bus stops at Syntagma square. The Plaka is a 5 min. walk from
Syntagma. Some portions of the Plaka are closer to "Akropoli" metro
station, which is one stop away from Syntagma, but I wouldn't bother.

There is a stop on the metro at Constitution Square (Syntagma Square)
and from there to Plaka is about a 5-6 block walk. Bill

I can't see the original thread, but if we're talking about the new
airport, the bus from the airport stops at one of the outlying metro
stops, from where you can take the metro to Syntagma. I forget if we had
to change, but we found this preferable to taking the bus all the way
in, as traffic can be a nightmare.

Thanks David,
That's what we've dedided to do. Our stop will be the one after Syntagma.
The 24 hour ticket for 3 Euros covers the bus and metro. Thanks to all for
your help.
