can anyone advise me of the gaelic name for the road over the hill to Applecross in
Wester Ross Scotland. The english translation is the pass of the cattle. The correct

http://www.applecross-coast.co.uk/peninsula/ says Bealach nam Bo
My road map, published by the AA, says Bealach-Na-Ba which seems to match what I
remember seeing on local signs on the 2 occasions that I have traversed the road
The second version is confirmed at http://www.ordnancesurvey.co.uk/ with a grave
accent on the a of Ba (accent that slopes like )

Bealach na Ba, with a grave accent (or at least whatever it should be called, if you
see what I mean) over the last letter of all, according to my OS map. Those who know
Gaelic - which I certainly don't - say that the OS spellings are pretty hit and miss.
Fantastic place...
