Andorra in August

Hi,
We are planning to spend a couple of nights in Andorra in August. To avoid
the worst hassle of the main town, and to get cheaper hotels, we are
planning to stay in one of the nearby villages. After looking around on the
net, we have found some nice hotels in Encamp, a small village about 3-4
kilometers from Andorra la Vella.
Can anyone tell me if this is a good idea?

A fine idea. Although the main road through Andorra is crowded all the way from
the French side to the Spanish - you can't tell when you pass from one
community to another. Still, staying in Encamp is better, inmy opinion, than in
Andorra town itself.
Hotels in Andorra are all very reasonable. My wife and I stayed at the Univers
in Encamp. Very nice, very reasonable, and listed in the red Michelin. Visit
the Michelin site (www.viamichelin.com) Selected Encamp because it's in the
dead center of Andorra.
