However, we neglected to borrow the Copenhagen bikes because the Carlsberg brewery has insolently hidden itself up a hill. Then we didn't go to the brewery anyway, but there you go. I have since recalled that Berlin (which is pretty flat too) also operates a bike scheme, which is tied to your mobile phone in ways I didn't have occasion to figure out. Des |

And if you see one it is there as it has been damaged. Never did I see a usable one available. Aarhus started them in May 2005. So when I was there in June of 2005 I had no problem finding one in working order. Don <www.donwiss.com/pictures/#travel> (e-mail link at page bottoms). |

I rented one for the week in Berlin. At first I was disappointed, after my nice bike at home, but those big old bikes can really take curbs. You can't hurt them. If you're going to commute in the city, that's probably what you really need. Otherwise you'll be changing tires regularly. I didn't use the Berlin DB bikes, but saw plenty of them around the city. Evidently you call in and get a code to unlock it, and leave it wherever you are when done. You're billed by how long you have it. |
