3 month EU visas
So, this was brought up by someone else in the last day or so. I'd like
to flesh something out.
I'm thinking of touring France on bike, or hike. The 3 month visa
counts for being in ANY EU country? And I have to be gone from any EU
country for 3 months before coming back, right?
Seems in the other thread Morocco was named as the destination to go to
to cool your jets. Why Morocco in particular.
Norway is not EU, is that right?

I didn't see this, I guess because I was so smitten by your welcome.
Doofy is short for doofus. Can it get much worse in Germany?

EU visas doesn't exist , but Schengen visas. They're valid for a stay of
maximum 90 days out of 6months in the Schengen countries.

Nothing especial with Morocco but it's outside Schengen. Feel free to visit
Burkina Faso or U.S at your choice.

Norway isn't EU member but being inside the Schengen area.

It's related to the Schengen agreement, not to the EU. Some EU countries
don't participate (the UK, for example); some countries not in the EU do
participate (Switzerland, for example).
It's possible to get a visa for a period that's longer than 90 days.

It's easy and quick to get to from Spain, and it's a cheap place to
hang out in for a few days if you're waiting for a visa or visa
renewal.

Bad example as Switzerland have signed the Schengen treaty but for the
moment not implemented the Schengen rules for immigration. The intention
for Switzerland is to implement and be inside Schengen from November 2008
and Liechtenstein have the same intention.
Formally outside Schengen are also Andorra,San Marino and the Vatican State
but without much meaning as there's normally no passport control to those
countries. Monaco have an agreement with France.
Also "in the pipeline" are Czech
Republic,Estonia,Lithuania,Latvia,Poland,Slovakia, Slovenia,Bulgaria,Cyprus
and Romania

It's a Schengen visa - so any Schengen country.
Don't confuse the Schengen countries with the EU countries, they are not
the same, but do overlap a lot.
But otherwise you're right. If you spend all 90 days in Schengen then
you'll have to get out and stay out for another 90.
>I'm thinking of touring France on bike, or hike. The 3 month visa

No, only Schengen countries. If you want to go to the UK, for example,
you'll have to get a separate visa. And don't forget Switzerland.

You have to leave the /Schengen/ countries. You could, I presume go to the
UK for 3 months.

Close, cheap drugs? No idea.

About the same I suppose, it means "daft" or "thick".
A bit like Johnny Depp, "Depp" means "idiot" "prat" "fool".

Not yet - they still have guards at the Swiss border and you have to show
your passport. They plan to change that but it is not in effect yet.
