Help my mind's gone blank... (either too much Banks, or not enopugh...)

Can anyone tell me the name of the hotel in Holetown that Cocomos is attached to.
It's next to the Police Station, next to the Inn on the Beach and opposite the Mall.
I can't for the life of me remember its name!!

Anyone know if any of the UK package companies use it, and/or will I have to
book direct??

It`s not The Regent you are thinking of? Or is it somewhere a little further towards
the police station?

Leif

Thank you it might be the Regent.

We stayed at the Inn on the Beach, next door, and ate at Cocomos a few times. I
couldn't remember the hotel name. It's south of the police station, south even of the
Scotia Bank.

Well, I am back from a wonderful weekend in London. Oh dear, how nice that was.
Nothing is like a cold Shandy at Lecester square on a sunny day.... But back to
Barbados. That is not the worst place to be either. And Grand Barbados is a nice
hotel for sure. Actually I had my firste night as a married man at Grand Barbados.
Went there after we had the wedding at josefs restaurant, in the garden there... The
hotel is nice, the view from the rooms is spectacular. I can not describe all those
nice colours you see in the water. Oh dear how nice it is. Either you look towards
Carlisle Bay/Bridgetown, or you look towards Holton. But hilton is no longer there.
And it is a long time since they blow the building down with dynamite. it is supposed
to be built up again, but who knows when? I don`t know. I was there in march, and
asked the man that guarded the powder (!) that was left back of the building. But he
did not know anything. He just worked there

Anyway, they may have started building by now, and if I was going to stay at GB, I
would ask for a room with view over Carlisle bay. There is also some few rooms right
in front the pool. Avoid them. No nice view like in the main building. There is a
small beach at the hotel. The restaurant is nice, and there is also a nice good
restaurant across the street. But you have to take the minibus to St-. Lawrence gap.
It will take you about 8-10 minutes to get there.

That other hotel you mention, is unknown to me. Barbados Beach Resort..?
Something new?

Yes, I guess it could be Regent. It is one of the larger hotels around there. Used to
be called Golden Palm (I think) before it was rebuilt some few years ago.

OOPS, this was ment to be a reply to another question: Grand Barbados or Barbados
beach restort... Sorry about that. Don`t know what happened.

No its not Almond, its called Sunswept. Tel 246 432 2715. However it depends on when
you were there last because I believe it may have had a different name 5 years ago.

Hi Rob, nice to see you back on the newsgroup. I think I posted wrong answer tho that
question then, when I suggested it could be The Regent, former called Golden Palm.
Anyway, I think Sunset Crest is the best place to stay in Barbados, unless you are
very interested in nightlife. It is quiet, it is pretty, it is not too developed, and
the beaches is great. I may go to Barbados in not too long time. And I will stay
either at Golden dream or Shells. Golden Dream is in Sunset Crest. Shells is not... I
have for the last years stayed in a private home, but are no longer welcome to do so.
(not because all the carib beers I drink)

Many thanks to all those who answered. It is "Sunswept", many thanks. I'll raise a
glass of cool Banks to all those who tries to identify it..

It did have another name some years ago, but we were there earlier this year and I
just couldn't remember its name.

I have recently returned from holiday to Barbabos.
It is indeed called Sunswept now.
I was married there in 1988.
Then it was called Na-Daisie Apartments.
