Tilt Train up to speed?
I'll be taking the train from Townsville to Cairns. I read that it
derailed in November. Are thay back to running it at normal speed or
what is its current status and how are the schedules affected?

You'd better ask Queensland Rail - their website's journey planner isn't
working correctly. But you've evn more problems at the moment as North
Queensland is experiencing severe flooding - it's the tropical wet season.
That is quite likely to interfere wuth train schedules.

The travel time has become quicker since the derailmnt between Townsville-
Cairns because the recovery time allowed has been cut. North of Rockhampton
was always 100km/ph max.The speed has been reduced between Rockhampton -
Caboolture.
