Is that what one does in those corporate boxes? Can't stand it, myself.

Dunno. I've never mixed with that sort of woman, myself. I'm surprised that
you, as an Aucklander, knows where Hakataramea is, though.

I've ceased to be at all surprised at all the things Daniel
knows about NZ. Just as I've ceased to be surprised that
his written English is just about the best on this group.
Or it could be the age of information-at-the-fingertips
striking again. It shouldn't be too hard to find out that the
easiest way to get to Hakataramea is to head north to
Alma, take the back road through Weston north to the
Pukeuri to Kurow highway, then turn right at Kurow
and you're there...

Unsurprising that he can't spell it though.

That really depends where you're starting from doesn't it?

Last time I was there, I came the other way (from that wonderful pub in
Duntroon), turned right at Kurow and headed north on a gravel road that made
me wish I had forked out the extra amount to rent a four wheel drive. The
scenery was simply spectacular!

Naah, Just go over Burkes Pass from Fairlie, then take the first on the left
onto the Haldon Rd, and then turn left over Hakataramea Pass Rd, and you can
traverse the whole valley. Much more interesting.

Some people apparently start from Invercargill. A very good place to start
from, I would say.

Its not cheap, but what do you expect for a craft brewed product. I
wouldn't have said it was outragous though.
Anyway, there are much better beers for the serious Australian hop fanatic
around - try the Holgate Beers, particularly Mt. Macedon Ale. Beautiful.

Well, I've found speaking from personal experience
helps... not having been to the Hakataramea pub
myself, I figured out how I got as close to it I've
driven (Kurow, on the way to Otematata) and
extrapolated...
