Nigeria
Does anyone have any experience of living in Nigeria as an Expat.
I am considering a job there in Lagos but cannot find anything very positive on the net. Is it as bad as people say?? Any feedback would be very much appreciated.

Re: Nigeria
it will be a struggle every day, for sure. its not only the noise and the dirt and
the traffic; there is a lot of corruption, and you'll quickly find work very
frustrating. i never really believed it until i spent a number of months there
working myself. people there sometimes lead lives harder than anything even a
well-travelled american or brit could imagine, and it makes for a lot of bitter
attitudes. while people were generally very nice to me, i never thought nigerians
were very nice to other nigerians, regardless of ethnicity, religion or class. it
really bummed me out after a while.
most of my time was spent in abuja and kaduna, which are definitely quieter than
lagos. lagos is bad if you are frustrated easily and intolerant of anything that is
say, non-optimal. if you can relax, it isnt so bad.
if you go, do make a point of visiting yankari national park. wikki warm springs are
the miracle of nigeria.
