Hi. Has anyone on the ng stayed there? I'm thinking of going in April and would
welcome any views or comments on what it's like. Thanks in advance.

Hi,

Mauritius is a lovely place to go. I have been there four times. In the end of april
next year I will go back to Mauritius.

There are a lot of good hotels. It depends on what your preferences are: middle-class
hotel, deluxe hotel, beach, sportfacilities etc.

To give you some view of the accommodations I can recommend

http://www.xs4all.nl/~iot or http://www.seychellen.nl

It is a web-site in the dutch language but the pictures of the accommodations will
give you a good idea of the facilities.

If you have questions please feel free to e-mail me.

Happy new year

I had my honeymoon at the Beau Rivage last March (2002). it was absolutely wonderful - the rooms are all large and very well equipped, it has a great spa and the pool is huge! the food is excellent - the Rive Gauche restaurant serves a gala dinner every Monday night and there are also Lobster Feasts as well as the Indochine Restaurant which serves great Indochinese food. The weather in April will be great - it is quite hot during the day, but there is a pleasant breeze from the sea to cool you off. It is quite humid at night and tends to rain from about 4pm onwards (its fab swimming in the pool with the warm rain falling!)
My husband and I enjoyed it so much we are planning a return trip for our first wedding anniversary.

I hope you do go as you will have a very memorable holiday!!

Best wishes, Sarah Dowley.

ps Don't forget to travel around the Island - catch a taxi from local Belle Mare, it is only a 5 min walk from the hotel and the cabs are half the price!
Also, leave space in your suitcase as you can buy Ralph Lauren clothing at bargain prices!

pps catch a boat to Ile Aux Cerfs - its stunning!
