Default Hluhluwe area

I have a friend interested in staying somewhere that is
convenient to the ocean and to wildlife. I haven't been
to the Hluhluwe - St. Lucia area, but I'll take recommendations
and pass them along. This would be a relatively long stay,
maybe a couple of weeks in one place. Self drive from the
Richards Bay airport.

St Lucia town would be a good base, it is small and one of those 'feel
good' towns to walk about in. I use the SA Parks campsite but I would
think there are all forms of accommodation.

It is the centre of the st Lucia Wetlands; a birders paradise, it is a
World Heritage site. There are also good beaches, fishing and river
cruises.

The 'pocket' wildlife parks of Umfolozi and Hluhluwe are an hours drive
away, the big five are there with a particularly large rhino population.

Summer can be unbearably hot with high humidity, I will re-visit this
June when it is cooler.
