I was in Ghana last week. The prices rose about 30%/50% since july
(for the petrol)..
Taxi in Accra: 10/20.000 cedis (1 or 2 Euros)
Restaurant: 50/100.000 cedis (5 to 10 euros)
Beer 6.000 cedis

Hi Antonello,
since you have been in Ghana, i'd like to ask you an advice: does Ghana
worth a trip (as a first timer in Africa), or do you recommend to start with
another country?
Ah, i should go in August.
Thank you!
Bye

I also was in Ghana (in February this year).
Ghana is perfect for a 'first timer', as there's much to see, people are
incredibly friendly and it is very very secure.
I was there for 5 weeks, and I would say, that 3 month could be enough to
see, what I've wanted to see.
prices: very different: for example: if you take a Taxi within Accra, than
the price is, as Antonello told you, but you also can take a bus or a Trotro
for 300 km, and you will just pay 3 Euro (in case of air condition)!
The same is true to food: it starts with 1 USD, but you also can go to the
Novotel (but this still is very cheap)
I was travelling around a lot, and I needed 900 Euros for this 5 weeks,
including a visa for Togo and some (more expensive) days over there. (+
flight, + vaccinations)
Josef
if you look for further information: try to get this book (it is much better
than the lonely planet!): everything in this book was true (if you add about
1/3 to the prices, because of the oil price doubled this January)
