falling of mount meru
I think it was approximately three years ago that a Dutch tourist fell off
the mount Meru, a fall of 500 metres. So be careful. Also: even though
there's no snow on Meru, it can be freezing cold, so take warm clothes with
you. More important: take flashlights and spare batteries with you, the park
rangers don't provide them. Very necessary when you start climbing at night.
The park-officers don't tell you how to prepare the climb, so be prepared.
We enjoyed the walk/climb though, fascinating.

Ah I forgot to mention that during the climb, an American tourist become so
frightened of the height she panicked and started crying hysterically. She
had to dragged along, but finally made it to the top safely.

Thanks, Beedge. I hear it's an intense three-four days.
