Went to see my bank manager this morning and after completing my business, I asked him what he thought of the current state of affairs in Portugal and received a very surprising answer.........."It's Sh*t"

Coicidently I said to one of the women in the bank that I was thinking it was probably best to move our money to Sterling in the UK....she replied "acho bem"

Portugal's future is out of its hands, it will depend on what happens in Greece, Spain and Italy.
If you look at the news about the crisis they don't mention Portugal much, as in the big picture it does not matter, but it will effect Portugal massively.
I am sorry to say its all over bar the shouting, its all smoke and mirrors, even if Greece does a deal, the amounts we are talking about are incomprehensible to most people.
If countries like the UK, France and USA are in a bad way and will take years to recover, what is going to happen to countries like Portugal, Spain and Greece, they do not have a chance, there will be mass unemployment, public services none existent and crime and poverty will rocket to unimaginable scales.
What is happening now in Portugal is the tip of the iceberg, the same goes for Spain and Greece.

PT - I agree with past posts, there is so little in press, that I suspect they will use Portugal as a guinea pig, to test the exit from EURO procedures, before then the other PIIGs, if you excuse the pun.
We are small enough to pilot the procedures, and send a last and final warning shot across the others.
Portuguese current account deficit is shocking still, so the politicians are playing lip service, and the numbers show the truth.
Gloomy outlook me thinks. BA

Ain't got no cash, ain't got no style
Ain't got not girl to make you smile
But don't worry be happy
Cause when you worry
Your face will frown
And that will bring everybody down
So don't worry, be happy (now).....

I read that Mario Soares, former prime minister and former president of the Republic of Portugal has warned of a military uprising so presumably, once the tanks are on the streets, all dissenters will be shot, can't wait
