Via Verde
Think we are going to rent a via verde transponder (is this better than purchase?), for our winter trip.
Still a bit confused though about whether the conditions are the same if you are driving a UK reg car as opposed to a Portuguese reg vehicle.
Has any one any views? I think they will send the transponder to the UK. Is that correct?
We will not be using tolls often, only as we come into Portugal and for occasional trips here and there.

What's better about the one you've suggested?

Re: Via Verde
If there is no intention to move to Portugal this is a possibility as they bill a U.K. Bank account.

Re: Via Verde
I think the transponder only costs about 20 euros, and It seems wise to link it to a Portuguese bank account to limit bank charges. Wen we first came here we registered our UK car with Via Verde without problem.
