Hi everyone, is there any body who can tell me the best place to get tyres for my friends car in central algarve, is it the norm to have to wait up to a week for a tyre. I actually sell tyres in the uk and maybe take it for granted that things dont move as quickly. my friend who lives in the algarve always has trouble getting tyres for his car to the point where I had to carry 1 out with me last time. can anyone tell me if this is normal. or reccomend a good tyre shop. which sells new and second hand tyres. thanks.

Sorry but I can't remember the name, maybe someone else will know it.It's on the road out of Lagos on the Portimao road, right hand side, green and white frontage in an industrial unit.Very reasonable prices, and we never had to wait for stock.

In SB Messines, headed out on the road to Alte there is a tyre place on the left. Their stock in the workshop looks impressive, but even more impressive to me was that when I had some tyres replaced they walked out to another warehouse to get the ones I needed. So heaven only knows how many they keep in stock, in total.
EDIT: They don't speak a lot of English, but pointing seems to work wonders!

Couple of years ago now, but very helpful and great value at the time. Got 4 new Jeep tyres for under 400 euros.
From the Guia roundabout, head towards the shopping centre. About 300 yards/metres along turn left off the 125 and, almost immediately on your right you'll see loads of abandonded truck/tractor tyres outside a house. That's it. Can't remember any names, but the young guy in charge speaks great English to the point where you can get quite technical if you wish.
Good Luck.

At the Guia roundabout, head inland toward Algoz. About 100 metres on the right is the road that takes you to Paul's tyre shop. It's adjacent to Guia Flores, so if you smell the flowers you've headed in the right direction.

Thanks J1mbo, there goes this month's commission from the GNR entrapment affiliate programme! Yes, I sit corrected: the turning I referred to is on to the 125 not off it. Glad someone's awake - it's too easy not to be.

Hi All
I will also be looking for replacement tyres soon for a small 4x4 (pref Bridgestones). Can anyone recommend a place east of Faro?
Thanks

Huge stock and very well equiped workshop for front and rear alignment, balancing etc, and reasonably priced too.

Thanks Dafty.
Will definitely try this place when tyres due for change. Sounds just what I'm looking for.

Best place by a mile is in Sao Bras. Company called Chaveca just up the road from Lidl, on the right. Privately owned outfit where the Boss is on the shop floor still getting his hands dirty !
