trouble with CTT (?)
#1
for the last two weeks I get several emails and texts every day; CTT tried to deliver but I wasn't home, or there was an unexpected problem.
Of course I was home, and my phone has no missed calls even though my number is on my gate and on each parcel.
I now have 5 packages pending.
CTT was always reliable before this; reliably a day later than their system said, but it got here.
Now I'm longing for GLS!
This morning I was told that there are now just 3 delivery people for the whole camara instead of 10 like before.
Has anyone else had problems with CTT lately?

There has been a scam whereby delivery of parcels are supposed to be having problems and you are encouraged to click on a link in the SMS/email to a nefarious site which hacks your details. However it does seem that you are actually awaiting parcels - do you not have a tracking number for each? Also perhaps check with the supplier who sent the package that the phone number and address details have been put into the system correctly. The supplier should inform you of the tracking number ... https://www.ctt.pt/feapl_2/app/open/...uest_locale=en
Just to add to your woes CTT are about to go on strike according to PT news this week!

Our CTT postbox is "shared" with a guy who died 3 years ago..... I think it was waiting for them to sort out the double booking of that got him - after 5 years.
8 years on, I still get his car tax demands...... But then, my neighbour gets everything for the EDP because they screwed up the address years back and "that's the address the meter is located at according to our records". There seems no way to change that without changing supplier.....
The one I really love is recorded mail.... a nice little note left in our box to say we need to drive 8km to pick it up, but not saying what "it" is. Well, I say "our box"... any postbox seems to do......

I have only twice ordered stuff that was delivered by CTT: I know they'll never come to us and have to put the local bar down as a delivery address, which luckily, they're happy enough to keep for us.
Having ordered a tv from Worten, that wasn't at the bar, nothing in our post box, also by the bar, so we had to go into Ourique post office.
The lovely lady in there said that it had had a lovely time, visiting a lot of places, as it was on the van first thing in the morning.

Didn't you tell yourself? I've often "not been home" so they've been forced to leave stuff 20Km away.... amazingly, this never happens if I address it care of the taberna...

Actually, he was a nice guy, an engineer who had bought an old Monte and restored it very well..... unusual for a Portuguese. He was quite young too, but death needs no excuses (Portuguese saying).

Yesterday I was told CTT is on strike so I can best forget about my pending deliveries.
Then the delivery man phoned and delivered 2 out of 5 parcels I'm waiting for.
Better than nothing I suppose.

I get my mail at the local post office, but for reasons unknown parcels seem to need to be delivered to my door.
Usually, it works. Rarely, they leave it at the post office for me. Otherwise they just drive around with it until a driver is on shift who knows how to get to my house.

Here in the East Algarve letters from the UK usually take 2 weeks to a month to reach our letterbox (always in what is clearly one delivery). Parcels are never delivered. Not even during lockdown when of course we were in - there was still the note in our letterbox that they called but 'you were not at home'......
