HELLO EVERYONE.

I HAVE JUST SEEN A LARGE RAT RUN ACROS A WALL IN MY GARDEN. ARE RATS A PROBLEM HERE?
IF SO WHAT CAN I DO APART FROM PUTTING POISON DOWN FOR THEM.

Get a cat

They're quite nice rats, mostly concerned with almonds, you'll see them in trees. A cat is the answer, poison is dodgy because their bodies are then also poisonous to animals.

I hate poison because it is totally indiscriminate unless you put it in your house where you are sure no other animal can get it

Get more than one cat - that will solve the problem !

Created a plague myself, and after trying various commercial strength poisons....only solution was decent air rifle. No risk to other animals, and instantaneous. Borrow one, or if rural, ask around and for sure someone will help.

if you get a rat box , thats lockable with the poison inside, reduces the risk of other animals getting at it, solved my little problem.

We had compost heaps, chickens, pigs, etc.....and my god what an infestation. Various devices hardly scratched the surface, as little blighters were reproducing at hell of a rate. They started to enjoy the strongest of poisons, and then later we find out that chicken feed cancels out rat poison, so they were having one for main course, and the other as desert :curse:

Small piles of food + Air rifle, silencer, scope .....

The Rambo rat killer, shame you can,t get a good jackrussell, he,d have them in no time!

Do a google on Rat Zapper - they work a treat.
