Default Skimmer Baskets

Our plunge pool is over 30 years old and the skimmer basket is crumbling away but these small baskets don't seem to exist anymore. I have combed the internet and tried reducing a larger one but to no avail. Anyone else with the same problem?

Have you tried visiting any of the many pool supplies shop in the Algarve? Some of them have many different baskets on their shelves.

I have tried a couple but they say they don't make them like that any more. Will keep looking though.
I should have mentioned the size, it is 20.5 cms across the top, 8.5 cms across the base and it is 9.5 cms high. Surely it can't be unique, can it?

I gad a quick look around online and couldn't see any with those dimensions. Is there a brand name?

One other thought is if it is unique, do you know anyone with a 3D printer?

After 20 years in this sunny Algarve climate, my skimmer boxes developed brittle fracture and started to leak. When I drained the pool to replace cracked tiles, I removed the skimmers altogether. They were never very effective when the wind blew away from them and completely ineffective when the pool cover was in place. Do you really need them on a plunge pool?

No brand name and I barely know what a 3D printer is!

Most definitely as we are surrounded by leaves which would soon choke the pump.

Perhaps you need to replace the complete skimmer box before it leaks.

Tough plastic netting is available at agriculture supply shops. cut and form as required.
I once made saddle bags for my motorbike from the stuff, that carried a 20 liter jerry can on each side.

If the job takes a few hours... how long did futile searching take already?

Can you post a couple of pictures? Have you tried AliExpress?
