Re: SHARK
Great footage. We saw around 30/40 dolphins off barrill last year around this time. A wonderful sight from a deserted beach has anyone else seen dolphins there in such great numbers is it a regular thing or were we just lucky?

A friend of mine who is a local fisherman is cursing them at the moment because when he is hauling in his nets the dolphins swim in, damage the nets and eat the catch before he can get it on board. |

There are often shoals of dolphins seen off Luz beach, I've been out once and swam with them, you put your head under the water and can hear them communicating soooo clearly will try and find some pics.

Re: SHARK
There is an article about sharks in this weeks resident, it quite interesting, but to me the most reassuring comment was that,
"sharks will not come out of the water to attack humans" I can now sunbathe on the beach in a happier state of mind. |
Re: SHARK
We went cage diving with great whites last year near Cape Town in South Africa. At this time of year you often see whales in the bays east of Cape Town, a truly majestic sight. In February this year a tourist was attacked and killed by a shark at a place called Fish Hoek. The waters off Portugal are tame in comparison!

Speaking to the guy who i was swimming out with, who lived local he said a Bull Shark was caught in Tavira waters in June and in August Hammer Heads were seen off of Cabanas, Luz & Barrill....... I then decided it was time for a beer  |
