Smile secondhand books

Hi,

Does anywhere know where I can buy second hand books-novels- in the East Algarve area, or is anyone part of a book swap club?

There is a Wednesday afternoon book club at the Golf Clubhouse at Costa Esuri. 4pm - 6pm.

You can take books, borrow books and I think there is a link to a reading clb as well.

Works for us.

Tavira auction usually has loads of books. Also, there is a bookshop (the name escapes me at the moment) just around the corner from the Mad Hatters bar that does second hand books - they take them in too, giving you a credit on books that you want.

Skippers Tavern in Tavira, on the way down from the train station, has a free book swap and also a book club but this doesn't run over the summer - likely to start again in the Autumn.

We also have a big bag of books ready to sell, just haven't got round to doing a list - mostly modern contemporary fiction - what kind of thing do you like? PM if you want.

It's open Wednesday pm and Saturday am - not sure of the exact hours. If you go up the hill past it towards the station and then take the 2nd exit of the roundabout there is usually plenty of free parking space along the road that runs past the school.

We have a charity bookshop in Estoi, on the church square, open mornings from Weds to Friday - books in many languages including lots in English. You donate what you think is fair for the books. They will always gladly accept donated books too.

I have the same problem, but am located on the silver coast up near Torres Vedras north of Lisbon. I have loads of books to swap or donate and have even approached the local library, but they didn't show much enthusiasm when I suggested an english language section. So I am also looking for a swap (BOOKS) club or other outlet in this area.

I find this one useful,

Friday afternoons there is a book stall at Calico Park near Cacela Velha. At the caravan park. sign posted from en125.
You can also have a drink or something to eat there in the bar. Also has swimming pool and nice views

You can buy a book for 2e or loan for 50c

The couple that run it used to have the book shop in Manta Rota.
