Scrapping a car remotely
Hi guys,
I wrote on this forum back in Jan 2013 about my crazy process to matriculate my UK Vauxhall Vectra into Portuguese plates. A couple of weeks back I decided to sell up in Tavira and drive the car back to England. Unfortunately I had a car accident in France and the repairs weren't worth it so I decided the car needs to be scrapped.
I have been given a document from the garage in France (from a Portuguese man) who tells me this is what I must give to IMTT to officially scrap the car and cancel the plates.
I am now back in the UK and am wondering if anybody knows how I can officially scrap my car without having to go back to Portugal and physically visit IMTT .... has anybody managed to deal with IMTT remotely, via phone/email/post for such a thing?
I did find an IMTT page with some info on End Of Life for a vehicle, VFV. http://www.imt-ip.pt/sites/IMTT/Port...ginas/VFV.aspx
