Default Ryanair

Are there a lot of hidden charges when flying Ryanair. Anyone used them recently? We would just have hand luggage.

You pay for seats tdogether. Bigger bags. Anything else before I book. Plus booking fee, howmuch is that? they say you find out once you have inserted your card details.

Booking fee has been included for a few years now, owing to a well-publicised court case.

No hidden charges as long as you're OK with assigned seating and seriously small luggage. Think wearing all of your clothes and sweating it out

Yes, I was thinking that. Are you even allowed a coat? What is the cost of the booking fee?

Why dont you read the Ryanair luggage allowances, its all very very clear what you can take. You see it all before you book a seat, the you decide using a tape measure on your luggage

I've done that, I was wondering what the booking fee is which it won't say until I give my card details.

Do a dummy booking. Bail out before clicking Pay. It's cheaper to buy checked luggage or the 10kg carryon 'deal if you do so at booking stage instead of adding on afterwards as I understand it

Easyjet is also a cheapo airline with similar techniques for emptying your wallet.

I'd be more concerned about obtaining flights available after lockdown, with whatever company. Is it that important to know how much the booking fee is? Surely all the companies include it in the price, one way or another?
I would also be wary of announced end-of-lockdown dates - they'll be extended if the Covid-figures won't have decreased significantly after 2 weeks' lockdown. In France, for example, we'll know mid-November whether the date (1st December) will be amended, for better or worse. But the French are expecting it to be extended by xx weeks...
What's the present situation in Portugal?

Almost without exception EJ is more expensive then Ryanair on the same or similar routes in my experience. So if you get a higher baggage dimensions or more weight on EJ, you're paying for it.
