Big problems at Revolut
Send money to them for transfer from UK bank to Portugal. They stopped the transfer because ,as they say, suspicious transaction. so, simply send the money back to my UK bank. HMM not so, been waiting for a week now, all I get is excuses, and no one answers my questions. Thought I let you know. BTW I have been using them for years. Apart from some hiccups, no problems.

Get your bank to action a dispute. Had something similar with Wise. The money which they claimed they didn't have, suddenly ended up in our Portuguese account.

No problem with Starling Bank. It takes no more than 15 mins in my experience and very competitive rates.

I only wondered because we have had a problem recently with our receiving bank sitting on incoming funds, for 6/7 days. Something they've never done before.

I've used Wise many times and so far not had a problem. Three weeks ago, transferred a few thousand from UK Santander to Wise by DD and it was in CGD when I checked a couple of hours later. Wonder if there's an issue with just one Portuguese bank or, has delay happened with several?

I have had my account frozen twice by Revolut as their money laundering software is over zealous and incompetent. I was not even transferring large amounts of cash and the hassle to unfreeze the account was a pain in the ass. I now use Atlantic Money and have made 2 hassle free transfers. Easy to set up but you have to provide copies of your passport and have it verified by them to open your account.

I'd transferred from Barclays to Wise. The money had left my Barclays account but Wise claimed they hadn't received it. Several conversations later and after instructing Barclays to retrieve the money, Wise 'found' the money, which I was then able to transfer to my Portuguese account.
