Reclamation Yards?

Reclamation Yards?
Does anyone know of any in (or near) the Algarve.
I want to make a custom Media unit for all my TV equipment so looking for some reclaimed wood.
This is the sort of wood I'm looking for.
I found this piece of Teak on our land when we first moved here
It became a shelf for my monitor speakers
Back in the UK I did a similar thing to hide all my equipment (this used to be an Oak Dining Room table)

The council yard in Lagoa might be worth a try.

Re: Reclamation Yards?
most reclamation yards we have found have mainly metal, however there are some great charity shops/flea markets and second hand furniture places where you may be able to pick up some old furniture and convert.

Re: Reclamation Yards?
Bugs tend to eat wood here; only the hardiest of bug resistant woods will survive any period of neglect [like being in a damp space for a few years].
So the pickings are pretty thin, at least as far as I've seen.
I bought a section of hardwood tree [Iroko], sliced and bound. It was very expensive, but when I'd used it all and went to buy more, the price had doubled.
now my jointer/thicknesser is rusting in the shed...
