PORTUGUESE TAX RULES FOR RENTAL INCOME
Can anyone tell me, if you own a property in portugal and rent it out permenent does your fisical representative deal with filing tax returns and working out what you owe. Also is there a time specification for filing returns like England.

Re: PORTUGUESE TAX RULES FOR RENTAL INCOME
Tax returns for individuals with rental incomes must be declared between 16/03 and 30/04 if done on paper or between 16/04 and 25/05 if done on the internet.
The fiscal year in Portugal corresponds to the calendar year so you will be reporting the previous year. The tax office will then issue a payment notice which you should get a few months latter (August usually). Non residents pay a fixed rate (25% if my memory doesn't fail me).
