Default Online banking verification

When we put our house on to the market we cancelled MEO broadband, sapo email address, landline. So MEO cancelled our mobile phone which came with the contract.

Yesterday we wanted to make a bank transfer to another person's pt account. Everything went OK until we came to the verification section. The bank sent us a code to the portuguese mobile number which we don't have anymore.

Tomorrow I will have the joy of dealing with the Totta bank. As we are now permanently in the UK does anyone know if they will accept English mobile numbers for verification or are there any other means to verify a transaction.

Don't think they do... we had the very same problem and they didn't accept our UK number.Vice versa for PT. We had to get ourselves a PT mobile sim. You could get one posted .We had one sent to our UK address a few years back. This year though our UK mobile provider wouldn't send a sim to PT.

Thanks I thought that might be the case. I hope it can be verified perhaps via our UK email address.

I know Millennium and novobanco both allow a UK mobile; I'd be surprised if Totta don't. You should be able to change it within your online banking portal.

Depending who the telco is its worth considering an eSim, no postage involved then, or port your number to a company who does offer eSim.
