Default Natural Gas going up in price

As from 01.07.2013 Natural Gas prices will increase by 3.9%
The fact demand has dropped allows the supplier to do this thru the contracts in place.
One must ask who the hell negotiated this contract & how much did they get as a prezzie for allowing this clause to stay in

As off yet Bottle Gas is unaffected ,but don't hold your breath.

Demand falls in the UK as well but the prce still increases as I stated gas is a globally priced commodity whether we like it or not.
You look for conspiracy and corruption in everthing and some times you will be right but NOT all of the time.

Very true, most NG sales are contracted at a guaranteed price. Costs have been falling on the free market around here, however contracted prices are locked. Good for the consumer when rising, not so good when falling.

Ingles you are right and sadly the same thing is happening in almost every country in the world.
It is a fact of life and all we can do is to hope that when we have voted one lot out that the next lot will not be as bad.

Natural gas is the kind delivered by pipeline; ie, town / city gas. It doesn't liquify when compressed [except at high pressure and low temperature].

"bottled gas" is LPG [liquified petroleum gas] which is either propane, butane, or a mixture of the two. This is also used in gas fueled cars.

I know the difference with the gases but the town gas in PT is LPG as PT does not have natural gas.

In the UK the Gov is trying to get someone to build nuclear power stations and the deal will effectively include a guaranteed profit. So if demand falls prices will go up. Maybe that's what the Pt Gov agreed to in the past?

Ha! I am inclined to think you are on the right wavelength 'LRS' I really do get quite peed off with all of this doom and gloom. Every country in the world has corrupt politicians, people who want something for nothing, etc. etc. Companies avoiding tax by whatever means. Almost everything is going up in price at the moment. Fact of life - so let's get on with it and deal with it. No point whatsoever in blaming others. Yip we know the people we did (or did not vote for) are a useless bunch of P****s, but that's the way it's been since we got to vote. That's democracy for what its worth. I think I'd rather just get on with life and enjoy it as best I can in spite of all the pr**ks in high office. What goes around comes around. One day we will win the battle :-)
